A detail of the drawings of the bridge sculptures. From left to right: St. Anthony of Padua (first of all monks), St. John Nepomuk, St. Norbert, Wenceslas & Sigismund and St. John Baptist. An interesting combination.
This one was commissioned by the government of Noord Brabant. It had to show how the beautiful riverland already is caught in the net of highways. And that another highway cutting through the land would be something that had to be very well thought through before doing.
We make maps for sale and we make maps in commission. This one is done for the counsel of Amsterdam. It was for a discussion between al different groups of people who were using the lake and the area around them. If you look close you can find sailing schools, dog trainers, bikers, artists, an open air boat in movie theatre, the cruising gay guys, the nude beach and much more. Instead of a pure technical map, this one showed the attendants all together in a positive way, a boost for the atmosphere during the meetings.
On the backside of the Prague map there is special attention for the statues on the famous Charles Bridge. It was great fun drawing al the statues, and I'm still happy with the result. The texts accompanied the drawings is history mixed with some personal stories.
This is the Mad Map of Prague. Into Prague. It need some update but is still a nice guide. We had a great time in Prague exploring the city, the beer and the wonderful people of Prague.
Here a detail of the Mad Map of Amsterdam. We're hard working to improve and we even think of redrawing the whole map for the next edition. This wild idea comes from the other plan: going digital and extent our website. Plans, plans, plans but wait and see!!
